The work of Henry Gong is essential to any vertebrate on the planet, species not withstanding. It is most important, though, to us bipedal humans here on hearth, fighting a battle against the gravitational pull of its mass.

The human spine is still evolving in to its relatively new position in space. It was originally designed for walking on all four extremities, similar in shape and function to our quadrupeds of today. Yet, as Henry Gong points out, many have lost some basic knowledge about moving our spine against gravity that our dogs, and cats and other animals still utilize. Civlization has robbed us of yet another pearl of ancient wisdom!

As a martial artist and doctor of chiropractic I realize the importance of Mr Gong's work, and in doing so am amazed at his understanding of the right and wrong ways in which to propel our bodies into movement. Even the fact that there is a right and wrong way to move is news to many of us, yet we wonder why 85% of the population, at some time or another, suffer debilitating back pain.

Martial arts injuries occur periodically in trainingl, and when they do it is important to know what and what not to do during both treatment and rehabilitation. As a chiropractor, I am constantly dealing with forces and where to introduce them in order to overcome fixated vertebrae in the spine.

Henry Gong's book answers the question as to how fixations manifest in the lower spine, causing unnatural stresses on the human frame which lead to all types of disease. He accomplishes this by showing the reader step by step how to move the body intelligently, from the inside out, moving spine first.

In doing this, and without knowing it, he restated one of the thirty-three principles of Chiropractic: Number Fifteen states that "Matter can have no motion without the application of force by intelligence". This intelligence in movement, innate to the wild animals of this planet, was somehow lost due to the way in which man lives and ages today.

Utilizing Hengry Gong's unique exercises, I rehabilitate patients (and myself) from injuries to all areas of the body in less time, with less effort, and less expense to the patient. His innovative movements also allow rehabilitative exercise to begin sooner, greatly reducing the amount of scar tissue and adhesion formation.

Henry Gong brings this lost knowledge back to us after many years of keen observations of human physiology's innate intelligence. He has been driven constantly in attempting to find answers to the question "Why?" put forth by both students and himself. It has kept him diligently on the path to perfection in both his students and himself, his teachings and his study.

Respectfully,

Dr Thomas DeSantis
